Australia Vacations – Perfection For Your Vacation

without comments

Australia is an attractive and majestic vacation destination. The climate, the beautiful beaches, the specialty vacations that abound all make for a cornucopia of fun. The stable political system, roads in excellent condition, low crime rates and quality health care system make the location a simple place to explore – at least you would think so. No matter how nice Australia vacations appear in a brochure there are still things to keep in mind when you’re traveling.

It really doesn’t make a difference where you go every vacation destination has its own set of precautions that you will need to take. Everywhere there are people there is some level of crime and everywhere there are wild animals there is some modicum of danger. You will not likely have to worry about any major catastrophes but it is better to follow the established precautions and tips to stay safe.

Personal Security the government is stable and effective in the south pacific and compared to most of the rest of the world the crime rate is really low but that doesn’t mean you can leave things unattended and expect a ten thousand dollar collection of personal belongings to remain unmolested. Keep an eye on your personal belongings and don’t allow yourself to be lured into difficult situations.

Sun Protection it isn’t a matter of how tough you are it’s a matter of acclimation and habit. Australians don’t go outside without any protection from sunup to sundown because they live there and they know better. Not being acclimated to the tropics you’ll burn like a fritter in a deep fryer if you think you are going to get a perfect tan in one day. Wear the sun screen and the UV protective clothing and glasses. Make sure you wear a hat to protect your scalp. UV can punch through miles of clouds and burn you, a little bit of hair are not enough protection to keep from getting a painful burn on your scalp.

Bushfires Any fire really, requires a decent amount of respect. The climate in Australia can be very dry so this leaves the Australians living day to day with the threat of wildfires. The dangerous times are usually late spring and through the summer. Everyone, including tourists needs to observe proper handling when it comes to fire. It is also in your interest to keep an eye on the news and weather alerts for fire warnings and alerts.

Beaches Australia has some of the most wonderful beaches in the world. The vistas and environment are a picture perfect paradise but as the saying goes, Beauty can be deadly. There are natural hazards in the underwater world from animals and the environment itself. Riptides are not uncommon and usually the local government will have some kind of posting in the safe areas to let you know it is opt to swim there. In many instances this will be red or yellow flags you need to stay between. It’s also good sense to never swim alone or while intoxicated or after eating as this can cause you to drown.

There’s not much worse than spending your savings on an expensive Australian vacation and then spending the whole thing in a hospital or worse because of a lack of forethought. A simple mistake can ruin an entire stay. Just plan ahead and be cautious. Learn the local area and customs before participating in activities and exploring.

Want to go somewhere awesome this year? Then it’s time to discover the fun and majesty that comes with Australia Vacations. There’s nothing better than backpacking Australia or putting together wine tours with New Zealand Vacations. Wonder waits down under.

Getting sick abroad is not a pretty sight. Senior citizen travel insurance will cover all that. You would be paying a couple hundred dollars, but you would be saving thousands when you look at the bigger picture.

My friends, these are simply only two of the great advantages anybody can get once they invest in a senior citizen travel insurance. Sail On A Cheap Ferry From Dover To Dunkirk And Get To France In Style

without comments

Dover is the main ferry port in the UK and has the closest access to Continental Europe. It is the busiest gateway to and from England and is one of the most active shipping lanes in the world. If you want to experience the amazing history of an ancient French city, take a cheap ferry from Dover to Dunkirk (or Dunkerque).

The ferries are large, stylish, comfortable, and modern. They travel across the channel to Dunkerque about seven times daily. The trip usually takes about two hours. The city is home to the third largest harbour in France and it produces large quantities of oil and steel. With its numerous museums, historic buildings, galleries, and glorious beaches, it attracts many tourists.

Dunkerque has been rebuilt over the years after being almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. Operation Dynamo, the massive evacuation of British and allied troops, took place here. The excellent cuisine is distinctly Flemish. This is where you can get the best Coq a la biere in the world. It’s a chicken dish cooked in cream and beer.

There are a number of ferry operators offering value-for-money trips across the channel. The ferries are crewed by experts, have rigorous safety standards, and are built for comfort. From the minute you step on board, you will be spoiled with all kinds of entertainment. This includes live performers, video games, children’s playrooms, and casino machines.

They also have fine restaurants offering either self-service or full waiter-service. The cuisine is mainly tasty French dishes. The ferries have shopping facilities that offer excellent specials on beer, wine, toys, cosmetics, perfumes, and lots of other merchandise. For passengers wishing to travel elsewhere in Europe, there is beautiful on-board accommodation. The cabins are usually 4-berth and all are air conditioned.

You can get really good fare rates if you know a thing or two. Firstly, make enquiries with several operators because their specials are different. If a ferry is not fully booked, you can get a great bargain. The same applies if you are travelling in the off-peak season. Also, taking the late night trip can save a whopping 40 percent.

Another way of getting a cheap ferry from Dover to Dunkirk is to ask about week-day specials. These are often offered off-season from Sundays to Thursdays. Make your booking online to eliminate a travel agent’s fee. If you pay by debit card (phone bookings only), you won’t be charged the expensive fee that relates to credit cards.

If you have enjoyed all the information you read here about Ferries From Dover to Dunkerque, you will love everything else you find at Ferry From Dover to Dunkerque.

Finding The Best Rental Agency In A Foreign Country

without comments

Traveling abroad can be quite the adventure and this is especially true when you travel to a country where everyone speaks a different language. Making your travel arrangements can be quite challenging in this forum and you may opt to use a travel agent in order to more successfully book your accommodations and air travel. Fortunately most rental car agencies that do international business have multilingual representatives who can help you to put in place your car hire reservation without any miscommunications.

If you’re planning a trip to an unfamiliar country, however, you’ll want to make sure that you know exactly what company you are working with and you’ll preferably decide on a company that’s recognizable to you. Even though, you might know this company in your country of origin it is important to be sure that each of this companies international locations are also owned by the corporation and aren’t independently owned.

Independently owned locations while sometimes good can be a touch unreliable at times and when you’re choosing the correct location based exclusively on their well known name make certain that the company is backing the specific place that you will be using. It can be extremely frustrating to have a negative experience with a rental company that’s independently owned.

Of course, when deciding on your car hire company in an international destination it is important to find out everything that you will have to have with you when you arrive to pick up your rental car or truck. Each country possesses its own guidelines and requires its own paperwork so you don’t want to simply assume that you have everything in order only to discover you are unprepared to pick up your rental. It is a good idea to not only check with the company as to the paperwork they are going to require you to present when picking up your international rental but that you will also want to verify directly with the location itself because this is the front line and they’re going to know exactly what they will need from you when you arrive at the desk.

In many foreign countries you’ll likely encounter some type of language barrier so it may be advisable to pay a couple of dollars more at an airport car rental agent instead of traveling into the city to find a better deal. Given that airports are more used to working with tourists from all over the world they’ll probably be better able to communicate with you at this location. If you come across a problem it’ll be best to be able to communicate your point and understand their responses.

When you’re looking into a Brisbane car hire there are numerous businesses that you can go with. The best business to use is a name you can trust, Budget.

Choosing The Right Rental Vehicle For Your Adventure

without comments

If you want to discover the real outback Queensland it is worth knowing that here are a lot of roads that require you to report to police before you leave one end and report to them again when you arrive at your destination. This makes it easier to locate you of you fail to turn up where and when you were expected. Many of these roads can be attempted in a normal car but generally it is less hard-going in a 4WD.

Whichever means of transport you decide upon, it is very important that you are carefully prepared. Carry important spare parts is a good idea as trying to arrange a tow in these remote parts takes a long time and can be very expensive. Its also advisable to travel with a high frequency out-post radio transmitter that is equipped to pick up the Royal Flying Doctor Service bases. Mobile phones cannot be relied upon in such remote areas.

Another essential item, that you should always have on you, is water. It is recommended that you carry at least 20 litres of water per person, as well as an ample supply of food. There are also certain times of the year that makes a road more easily traveled on then others. From November to March, it is not recommended that you travel Queensland’s south west, due to an abundance of dust that can increase mechanical problems. While in the North, it is not recommended that you travel during the rainy season, as the roads tend to get flooded.

To avoid making these mistakes and ensuring you are literally on the right track, it is useful to speak to the local police. They can advise you which tracks are open and if your car is suitable. It may be useful also to join the RACQ, (Royal Automobile Club of Queensland), as it offers emergency breakdown cover for $95 per year and a 24 hour telephone service. This will ensure prompt roadside assistance and they will organize a tow if the problem cant be fixed on site. The RACQ also provides lots of sets of regional maps of Queenslands and sells a wide range of travel and driving products. It provides advice on weather and road conditions.

If you do run into trouble, it is VERY important that you stay with your car. Cars are much easier to spot than people in the outback and plenty of travelers have wandered off into the wilderness, dying of thirst long after their abandoned car was found!

If you are looking into car hire Gold Coast you can look online for great rentals. Also I have heard that car rentals Coolangatta will also provide you with some amazing deals. To rent you vehicle today log onto www.budget.com.au.

Beat the Winter Blues with a Travel Trailer Vacation

without comments

While the winter months slowly roll by the thoughts of vacations tend towards the spring or summer. However, winter breaks are exactly what we all need to keep us rejuvenated and productive. While the December holidays are over, there are still quite a few months of winter perfect for playing. Take the time for a travel trailer vacation and your relationships and work performance will benefit.

Colorado has winter sports for every family. No matter how extreme you want to be, there’s something for everyone. If you’d rather sit back and be pampered, Colorado offers spas, natural hot springs and more. Want to see it all in one trip? The travel trailer is one of the best ways to experience Colorado.

The landscape varies from hills to mountains, cities to towns. Food and drink are made locally, with some of the best beers in the country and cuisine to match. If you’re on the hunt for the perfect snow conditions, then the travel trailer is the ideal way to jump from resort to resort to check out the best of Colorado.

With so many resorts in driving distance, it’s easy to take the travel trailer to Vail, Breckenridge, Copper and A-basin in a week’s vacation. Other resorts, like Steamboat Springs, CO are a little more remote, but have enough skiing terrain and tourist attractions to keep you entertained for more than a week. Vail offers huge views from the mountain, while in Aspen you better bring your designer clothes. Breckenridge is a little more quiet, but well suited to the nature lover, who wants to take in every flake. Steamboat Springs is known for its family friendly atmosphere.

Tired of seeing cloudy skies, head to California. Sunshine is on the menu every day. The landscape is dramatic in different ways from Colorado with hillsides covered in flowers, redwoods reaching up to the sky and an ocean that brings a salty sweetness to the senses.

From north to south, you can ski and surf in a single day. Yosemite National Park is open for skiing with minimal amenities and minimal crowds. Heading down the coast just outside of Santa Barbara, Carpinteria epitomizes relaxation with great restaurants, beaches and trails where dogs and children can run. At the southern end of California, theme parks entertain kids and adults alike. Bars, every type of food and enough eye candy for a lifetime await.

Surfers don’t want to miss Big Sur. When Yosemite National Park offers skiing, climbers flock to Joshua Tree for world class climbs.

No matter your preference; slopes dusted with champagne powder or views of the ocean that stretch into infinity, your travel trailer can take you there. Enjoy cold beers or hot toddies to celebrate the day and celebrate your life.

Motorhome Rental Holidays are Credit Crunch Holidays Credit Crunch Holidays by Motorhome Rental Motorhome Rental for Credit Crunch Holidays

without comments

Because of the poor GBP/EURO exchange rate, British residents will get much less for their money in Europe unless the present situation improves. At the time of writing, the situation isn’t much better than it was this time last year.

As a result of this many British people will still not be considering not going abroad for their 2010 holiday unless the situation improves.

This is why a really smart move is to have a motorhome holiday in 2010. If the pound to euro exchange rate does not improve before the summer then a motorhome holiday in the United Kingdom makes good financial sense.

If the exchange rate (sterling/euro) should improve in the pound sterling’s favour then you could still take your already hired motorhome to Europe and make the most of getting more euros for your money. Countries such as Spain and also the former Eastern block countries such as Croatia have great cheap campsites and meals out are inexpensive.

Better fuel prices: It is worth noting that economic and political circumstances surrounding America and the Middle East have meant that fuel prices have stabilized during the autumn of 2008. Petrol and diesel are less expensive than they were a few months ago, a situation which looks likely to last into 2009 and a factor that is very important if you are considering a touring holiday.

Investing in Britain: If you do “holiday at home” in England, Scotland and Wales, you will be aiding small businesses in your own country. You may be helping other people just like you to provide for their families. You will be making a “ecological choice” too by not flying to your holiday destination.

When you hire your motorhome in the UK and you pay in pounds sterling, you are not affected by fluctuations in the European exchange rate.

Families love motorhome holidays: kids love camping, caravan and motorhome holidays but sometimes parents find the “under canvas” variety somewhat lacking in luxury!

6 Ways To Improve Gas Mileage!

without comments

Gas prices may have dropped from the crazy four-dollar-plus per gallon that it was last summer, but it still isn’t cheap. With prices hovering around three dollars per gallon, it still takes a huge bite out of the budget. Here are 6 steps you can take to get more for your money, and keep more money in your wallet – where it belongs!

1. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Under-inflated tires take considerably more energy to move your car. Check your tire pressure every time you fill up – it doesn’t cost anything extra and you’ll be considerably safer too.

2. Check tire alignment. Tires that aren’t in alignment make your engine work harder, which means burning more gas. Check your tires alignment every 6 to 9 months.

3. Check your brakes. You should have your brakes aligned and checked. Poorly aligned brakes mean you have to brake harder, and you lose or bleed off kinetic energy, resulting in lower gas mileage.

4. Make sure your engine is tuned. An improperly tuned engine can burn a LOT more gas than necessary. Have dirty or worn spark plugs replaced.

5. Don’t idle more than necessary. Idling gives you exactly zero miles per gallon. Though it takes more gas when your engine turns over, if you are going to be idling for 30 seconds or more, it pays to turn off your engine.

6. Improve your driving. Don’t over-accelerate just to brake, like accelerating between stop signs more than you need to reach the next stop sign. Avoid stop-and-go traffic; do your errands during off-peak times when there is less traffic.

There are many more ways to improve gas mileage. Visit sites like www.gasforlessmoney.com and start practicing some of these gas-saving tips. A gas mileage improvement of just 10% can translate into a $5-$10 savings at the pump!
