How Hybrid Cars Can Reduce The Energy Crisis

without comments

It has been said that not enough people are doing all they can do to fight against the energy crisis. Hybrid cars can help, but definitely not enough people are driving them. Here are a few problems related to the energy crisis and how hybrid cars can help.

The U.S. isn’t doing enough really. The USA consumes more fossil fuels than any other country in the world. However, most people think that all of our energy problems can be solved if we would only investigate further into the oil deposits in Alaska or if we made full use of the recent discovery of oil in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hybrid cars make it so that we might not have to use other sources of energy to keep the economy afloat. Hybrid cars don’t cause Americans to use an excessive amount of fossil fuel. Instead, hybrid vehicles make Americans use less fossil fuel.

Energy consumers just accept increasing fuel prices. People used to care that petrol prices are much higher now than they were years ago. Now, however, people just accept the higher prices. In the meantime, cars are getting bigger and bigger. Car manufacturers are making trucks and SUV’s, which consume more petrol at the higher prices.

These vehicles use more gas, but you wouldn’t believe just how many people won’t give up their fuel-guzzling SUV. Hybrid vehicles do eventually cost their owners less to own than conventional vehicles do. So there is no need to worry about settling for being over-charged by the oil economy.

Soon there could be an end to the “cheap oil period”. Soon, we could all be in over our heads, because not only will we have an energy crisis, but a peak oil crisis as well. During the peak oil crisis, there will be gas shortages and natural gas shortages too. The major countries will need to compete against each another for whatever oil remains.

Therefore, everyone could have some problems, and countries may have to fight for who gets oil and who does not. The peak petrol crisis can be staved off, if more people just drove hybrid vehicles. Hybrid cars ensure that people are not always having to be looking for oil. Additionally, there are advances being made to hybrid cars all the time.

The plug-in hybrid cars, for example, might not even need oil whatsoever one day. So, just in case we do have an energy crisis, Americans ought really to be using the time to finding a solution to the coming oil crisis in the U.S. Hybrid vehicles are the method to beat the energy crisis, and if countries still want to fight each other over fuel, at least America will know they attempted to stop the impending crisis by investing in hybrid vehicles.

So, that’s it. The United States’ mass use of hybrid cars would ensure that Americans use less gas. But Americans also still have yet to gain from the huge amount of money being made from hybrid vehicles. The majority of popular hybrid vehicles come from Japan. Therefore, Americans ought to bring that money back into the country by making hybrids at home and do something about the current energy crisis at the same time.

The Facts About Scout Motorcycles From Indian Motorcycles

without comments

During’20 Indian Motorcycle came out with a outstanding motorcycle which was called Indian Scout motorcycle and was used by everyone from police to motorcycle racer. This motorcycle which was in use till’39 had a low body and better handling. India was also producing engines for aircraft and motors for boats, air conditioner and cycles during World War II.

Indian Scout motorcycle went through some changes since its introduction in’20. While it was introduced with an engine size of 37 cubic inch (596 cc) by’27 it was increased to 45 cubic inches (745 cc). This came as a response to the American built motorcycle Excelsior Super X, which had a 45 cubic inch engine.

When 101 Scout was introduced in’28 the Indian Motorcycle fans felt that it was the ultimate in Indian Motorcycle technology. However Scout started using the body of another Indian’s famous model called Chief in’31 which delighted its admirers to no end.

Between’32 and’41 the Scout fans saw a succession of smaller Scout motorcycles which may have been done to satisfy its supporters. These motorcycles had small engines of only 30.50 cubic inch and were called Scout Pony, the Junior Scout, and the Thirty-Fifty.

The two big motorcycle companies Indian Motorcycle Company and Harley Davidson were trying to out do each other in America in the early years of 20th century. The rivalry was well known and was written about in a book called Harley-Davidson and Indian Wars by Allan Girdler. The run away success of Scout was strongly opposed by Harley Davidson.

There is some interesting fact concerning the road worthiness of’20 model of Scout motorcycle. The motorcycle racer Burt Munro set out to make a world record in speed on land with a Scout between’62 and’67. He succeeded in making an unbeatable record with under-1000cc. The remarlable part was when Munro made the record he was 68 years old riding a 47 years old motorcycle. There were some more examples and everything taken together was made into a movie named World’s Fastest Indian in 2005.

The company Indian Motorcycles witnessed a series of trouble and was ultimately declared bankrupt in’77. In’35 controlling interest of Indian Motorcycles was sold and by’46 it stopped manufacturing any motorcycle. After that till’77 it changed hands several times. Through out’80s and1990s the company was fighting court battles over the ownership of the brand name.

Finally, in December’98, the claim was established in Federal court in Denver. IMCOA Licensing America, Inc. was given the trademark, and the Indian Motorcycle Company of America was shaped as a conglomerate of nine companies. Production began again in’99, and Scout models were manufactured from 2001 to 2003, until the company went bankrupt again.

The new Indian Motorcycle was set up in Kings Mountain, North Carolina in the year 2006. However they closed the production of Scout model and the Chief model was taken up for production.

The rush that a die hard lover of the classic Indian scout motorcyclegets from riding is not easy to put into words. If you’re interested in buying one, check out this page on Indian motorcycle dealers.

Water Instead Of Gasoline

without comments

The price of petrol was a major topic of heating conversation for some time now. Approximately, $ 4 gallon nationally, gas must now be taken into account in the family budget as well as groceries and child care. More and more people are teleworking for their job and SUV sales are fast declining!

Do you want double your gas mileage? If you are concerned with vehicle emissions, this might be just right for you. Interestingly, very little water is needed! You can turn your car into a hybrid that functions on burning water.

The fact is that this is true; you can fuel your vehicle with water! You can turn your car into a hybrid that functions on water burning. It will work on nearly 100% of all vehicles.

Without getting too complex, the whole basis of this plan is to use electricity generated from your car battery. It will work on nearly 100% of all vehicles. The price of petrol has been a major topic of heating conversation for some time now.

Is it for you? Even if your car is new and is still under warranty, you can still enjoy this advantage. It is a do yourself project and may be withdrawn at any time.

This is something that you can do yourself for less than the cost of gas for one month. You can do this even if your car is new and still under warranty. You can still enjoy this benefit because it is a do it yourself project and can be reversed at any time.

Without getting too complex, the whole basis of this plan is to use electricity generated from your car battery. This process separates water into a gas (HHO). HHO = 2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen.

There is no special type of water that has to be used or any formula that has to be mixed. We are talking plain old tap water! Without getting too scientific on you, the whole basis of this plan is to use the electricity from your car’s battery to separate water into a gas (HHO). HHO = 2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen.

More and more people are telecommuting for their job and SUV sales are fast declining! In fact, it would seem impossible to most for this to be true. The fact is that this is true.

Some experts believe that most cars will use this technology by 2012. Why wait for the automotive industry to show leadership? Why waste more time or money?

In fact, Florida has opened two hydrogen fuels in six months in their commitment to explore the potential of hydrogen. Hybrid Cars Many hope and believe that hydrogen can obtain these results. All while increasing your vehicle fuel efficiency.

The Importance Of Electricity In Modern Times

without comments

Electricity, as we all know is an extremely diverse and flexible energy form. It has been adapted over the last 200 or so years to the point where we can now use it for pretty much anything. One of the first applications of electrical power that was publicly available was LED lighting when the first incandescent light bulb was invented in the 1870s.

Although electricity obviously brought along some new dangers with it, it eliminated some of the old ones. For example, the gas lighting that was generally used in factories and homes before electricity used naked flames.

The Joule heating effect that is used in light bulbs is also used in electric heating. Electric heating, although easily controllable and versatile, could be deemed wasteful as heat has already been used to create this electricity in power stations.

A few countries, including Denmark have introduced new laws restricting the use of electric heating in new buildings as it is having an adverse affect on climate change. However as the global temperature rises the demand for Air conditioning goes up, and so climate change is getting worse with a snowball effect.

Telecommunication is of course another area dependent upon electricity; in fact the electrical telegraph was one of the first successful applications of electricity.

Global communication was made possible in the 1860s with the invention of intercontinental telegraph systems, followed shortly by a transatlantic telegraph system. More recently, fibre optics and satellite communication have taken a large share of the communications market, but without electricity both would be rendered useless.

Electromagnetism is best seen in an electric motor, one of the cleanest sources of motive power. A stationary motor like a winch can easily be powered by a stationary external power source, but a moving motor like that of an electric vehicle must carry a power source with it, unless it works using a pantograph like some modern trains.

Perhaps the most important invention of the 1900s is the transistor. It is a vital part of all modern electrical circuits and a modern integrated circuit may contain several billion miniaturised transistors in a region of only a few centimetres squared.

What’s Up With Recent Gas Prices ?

without comments

The big question on many people’s mind is will gas prices ever go down. Some people are demonstrating against it, especially long haul truck drivers whose businesses are on the brink of collapse due to the unprecedented rising of gas prices. Certainly, gas prices might eventually decrease, but unfortunately, it is not likely that they will ever come down to a level which matches our economic expectations and financial realities.

One reason for a possible decrease may be that the demand lessens. People will travel less or car pool more effectively. Cars may become more efficient with new fuels appearing on the horizon. Thus supply and demand factors will consequently keep prices stable, even if on the high side.

With this said, requirements for refining gasoline to make it more clean-burning prevent gas prices from ever falling significantly, and the emission standards set by law continue to become stricter. Oil Refineries will require more capital to expand and do routine maintenance to keep up with demand. You can be sure that oil companies will first point to these reasons for rising fuel prices.

You might ask if or can the government do anything to help reduce the price of gas. Realistically this won’t happen since there are both money and political considerations to take into account. And many international considerations that the government could not hope to influence. Ultimately people will have to make their own changes to deal with the rising prices of fuel, and as a result of the record high gas prices, everything else.

People will travel less and spend less, hurting our economy even more, and as the cost of food rises, the quality of food people purchase will decrease which will probably result in higher health care and insurance costs. People will also need to start planning their activities better, for example planning all errands on a single day to reduce traveling and fuel consumption.

People need to make sure that their voices are heard and registered with their elected officials at all levels, since they, as taxpayers, are responsible for the officials’ salaries. Write, call, and email them whenever you can. Despite big oil companies have a strong lobby with governments, elected officials still have to listen to the voices of their constituents, and that should lead to moves that reduce gas prices.

So will gas prices ever go down to more comfortable levels? Who knows, there are many factors that seem to influence the price, that it seems unlikely that they will all change to bring the price down. However, with your opinion added to the growing numbers of people who want change, our country’s leaders may pay attention and take action to put a halt to the out-of-control, upward spiral of gas prices.

Biodiesel the Wave of the Future

without comments

Biodiesel expansion has been very important throughout the entire world. With most of the world relying on other Powers to supply them with necessary fuel, this issue has become even more important. Most are searching for alternative means and to create renewable energy.

The cost of fuel today has become outrageously high. We all certainly have heard the expression that fuel is a commodity, and indeed it is. With the rise of inflation, people struggle just to feed their families. Concerns about the cost of necessary fuel on everyone’s mind. People have also become extremely conscious of conservation. Because fossil fuel is a limited resource, alternatives will without a doubt eventually be necessary.

Who would not be happy to hear that a renewable fuel had been invented, which took advantage of the natural resources which are available to us? Ethanol has come about as the result of this type of thinking. This will certainly lead to many more ideas in the future.

The idea of having a fuel available which is commonly available to everyone as a household item, is truly amazing. It is very exciting indeed to find that used cooking oil for example might be used to operate your automobile. Who wouldn’t be excited about this fantastic innovation?

There is however a problem with the development of bio diesel. The current process which is used to develop this bio diesel is unfortunately creating more pollution than what it has been created to replace. As a result there is much more research and testing needed to be done in order to make this product better. The other issue of concern, is that much of the world’s food crop, mainly corn, has been dedicated to the use and testing of bio diesel. This has had a worldwide effect and increase in the cost of food. As a result, some people do not have enough to eat, as they cannot afford it.

Bio diesel expansion experts continue to research new innovation in the perfection of a natural alternative to fossil fuel, which is renewable. Farmers, and ethanol refineries are being encouraged to use more corn waste, rather than the food crop, as well as animal waste collected from the farm.

The development of ethanol has led to a great deal of interest in creating green alternatives in many areas. Safflower oil, soy beans and algae are all being used in the research and development of bio diesel.

With the amount of work that is being done today, we can expect to have a future where green choices are mainstream. This certainly will open the door to the use of water power, wind power, solar power, and any other natural resource being considered before one has been traditionally used.

Make own Biodiesel

without comments

Biodiesel, as an alternative fuel, has a number of benefits, but the biggest plus point should be the fact that anyone can make Biodiesel at home. Imagine being able to make your fuel for your vehicle or even power your entire home with the energy you created in your garage? That would translate into quite a lot of savings for you.

Making Biodiesel is not really that difficult of a process. It is great to get involved in making your own Biodiesel if you can because you get to save gas costs when you use home-made Biodiesel.

Biodiesel Supplies

Producing a small amount Biodiesel at home entails minimal requirements Actual ingredients are needed to produce a Biodiesel product alcohol, lye and vegetable oil substance. You have to prepare some supplies as inputs for mixing the fuel: empty plastic bottles, duct tape, a mixer and measuring cups. Be sure anything used for Biodiesel production is exclusively for that purpose and avoid using again for your cooking ingredients.

Once your supplies are in place, you can proceed in learning the procedure to make Biodiesel

Safe Procedure

Making Biodiesel is a relatively safe process. Fire or explosion is remote to happen. In fact, the only major area of concern, as far as safety, inflicting burns to yourself due to flames. Make the temperature in your mixing procedure tolerable.

You will have a walk through on the do-it-yourself way of making a Biodiesel which requires combining the inputs, letting it to settle, breaking up the byproduct and Biodiesel and then cleaning the Biodiesel. The entire proccess can last for just a few days or it may take a few weeks. That depends on the extent of cleanliness of your vegetable oil.

Small or Large Scale

Yields in Biodiesel production can be small scale or large scale. Biodiesel kits are great if you want to make a few gallons of Biodiesel at a time. If you regularly use your lawnmower or similar equipments then A Biodiesel kit makes sense. It is not difficult to use and will entail minimal inputs.

If your goal is to generate more production like for your automobile, tapping a processor makes sense. This makes the process super simple, so you can make more than a few gallons at a time. With a processor you will need some more supplies but you also spend lesser time in Biodiesel production since the processor does most of the work for you.
