The Palm Pre: The Latest Advancement In Smartphone Technology.
The newest addition to the smartphone family has finally arrived. The long awaited iPhone Killer is finally available to all the tech fans of the world. Along with the announcement of its release the features the phone came with got equal billing. The Palm Pre phone has a lot to live up to. While they hype might be a little misleading the Palm Pre is still a great phone which might even steal some potential iPhone customers. With its great capabilities it is a great phone to go up against the iPhone.
The Palm Pre features a very unique and simple design. The exterior of the device doesn’t have many buttons which is a welcome design feature. Many smartphones feature a multitude of buttons running along the side of their devices, this makes them hard to use. Another notable difference between the Palm Pre and all other phones is that the Palm Pres outer casing is actually made out of plastic. Many consumers fear the phones will be more prone to damage but the plastic is extremely durable. Also it doesn’t feel any weaker than any other phone. Despite having a smaller screen than the iPhone the Palm Pre actually displays a sharper and better looking image. An unfortunate design flaw on the Palm Pre is the full QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard is rather small and those with big fingers will have trouble typing on it. It is a little counter intuitive and may take a while to get used to.
The ability to multitask is finally available and it is prominently featured on the Palm Pre. Utilizing the multitask feature users are now able to run numerous apps all at once. In previous smartphones the operating systems installed can only operate one app at a time (including the iPhone). But not you can be using multiple apps with ease. Also on previous smartphones receiving a phone call while using an app would mean the alert displayed would completely interrupt your app. But on the Palm Pre the alert is neatly displayed on the bottom 3rd of the screen, allowing you to continue using your app even if you choose to ignore the call.
The Palm Pre takes full advantage of the Wi-Fi and 3G offered up front. Surfing the web is fantastic and websites load almost instantly. With its superior screen and amazing network the Palm Pre is a real pleasure to use. The touch screen found on the Palm Pre is very responsive and even further expands on the finger commands introduced by the iPhone. The Palm Pre gives you multiple ways to execute any task.
With the Palm Pre out on the market it adds a nice variety to the choices between smartphones. With its own sets of advantages and disadvantages the Palm Pre is a great phone for anyone who wants to stream media and surf the web. Even if it isn’t the iPhone killer its supposed to be.
