Using Fleeting Pricing To Your Advantage

without comments

There is a little bit of information that I can decipher from you reading this particular piece on fleeting pricing and how it correlates towards big savings. You are someone that is curious if this type of fleet discount could be beneficial for you to know about, and how it really works.

You should first know and understand the premise behind a fleet discount that is available to companies. This discount is a result of the relationship between company and car maker that allows for a certain agreement to be reached concerning the sales of the cars to the company.

What this means is that those that are allowed from the company to access and use this particular discount could benefit from a serious price cut. This is not like knocking a little off the top, but usually rather a dramatically lower price that you are never going to see on a sales floor at any time.

So with these giant price cuts, how do these companies make any money? Well that is why the company’s end of the bargain is so important. Not only are they required to purchase a set amount of cars based on the agreement, they are required to purchase that amount (usually under 10) of cars annually.

One thing that you should be aware of, is that the level of this discount and the depth that it might go to is vastly related to the size and demands of the company. It will also fluctuate based on the various makers of the cars themselves, offering new deals all the time. It could also be the difference of dealerships and the deals they offer.

So should you bother getting informed about a potential discount like this that could be available to you? Absolutely. You might not even be aware of being eligible for something like this, and if you are planning to get a new vehicle, who couldn’t use a price break on it. So get a hold of HR and see what they know about fleeting pricing.

Buying A Used Car? Go Prepared!

without comments

There are a couple of things I know about cars. The first? Always reverse into a parking space to allow for ease of escape/exit. The second? If you are buying a used car on higher purchase then you need to ensure that you intend to insure it fully comprenhesive. In the worst case scenario if you drive the car into, let’s say a brick wall, then you are not still paying off your installments on a car which has been written off.

In the UK alone, the car used industry has a multimillion pound turnover and employs thousands of people in many capacities. I have heard some nightmare tales which have involved people buying stolen car or cars which are in a terribly bad state of repair. Thankfully, these incidents are rare compared to the thousands of used cars sold each year in the uk.

I’m on my seventh used car and have made many mistakes in my past purchases. The biggest tip I have is that before going to buy a car, make a plan and stick to it. Decide on what you want and the reasons you want it. If you want a sporty two seater than choose a car which will meet this requirement and don’t be tempted by flash sales talk about a 6 seater family car.

Now, work out what you can afford to pay as a deposit and on a monthly basis and don’t go over this even if you get a good deal on part exchange. Also, If you are unsure about the process of buying a car or are scared of being ripped off then go to a reputable garage.

Do as much research about the garage where you are buying the car from as possible. Check online, ask colleagues, family and friends, read the paper, look out for reviews, ring the RAC or AA – use all means available to you. This will certainly pay off in the long run.

Don’t shop alone, Take a friend even if they know little about cars, you can still gain support and valuable feedback on your experience.

Remember, never make a decision about such a huge purchase without having time to think about it. If the car is right for you then it will be still be there in the morning. And if it doesn’t feel right, then absolutely never ever part with any money. Good sales people will never try to push you into a purchase.

Buying a new care should be fun, I feel if you follow the above guidelines and remember to always reverse park you will have many hours of pleasure driving your new car.

A lot of People Have Great Cars

without comments

While I was on my way to the office a week back, I was stuck in what seemed like endless traffic, I was getting really fed up. I suddenly found myself day dreaming, I quickly glanced over onto the other side of the road and all I could see was brand new vehicles being driven. There I was in my car that was just on its last wheels and every one else is driving brand new vehicles. I have to say where do they get them from?

After briefly thinking for a while, I came to the conclusion that not everyone can afford brand new vehicles, so here are my ideas.

1) They buy the cars on finance, more and more people are getting things on finance that they really cannot afford to pay off, and then is ultimately why the economy has come crashing down in the first place. People go and get the best vehicles around and they literally cannot keep up with the monthly payments that they commited themselves too for so long.
2) In my opinion this is how a lot of people are getting their vehicles and it is the best possible way, something that could in fact overtake buying vehicles is car leasing. You pay a monthly rate for a brand new car; you simply do not have to deal with repairs, MOTs or anything else. When your vehicle contract has come to an end you just hand back the keys and get to choose a new modern car.

To be honest the second option sounds so interesting that I might just go a lease a ford tomorrow.

Do you actually want to lease a BMW

LED Car Lights Set To Outshine Standard Bulbs

without comments

New cars and those that have been retro fitted with the new innovative LED lights can be spotted from miles away. Their beams shine a much cleaner and purer white light and they illuminate all they hit with more detail than is possible from standard bulbs. These lights are more popular than ever now and selling faster than they can be produced. But what makes this innovation better than the others?

First they aid driving by giving out a much higher quality of light. Wolfgand Huhn, Audi’s lighting exert said recently “everyone who has seen these lights in action is not only astonished by the excellent output but also thrilled with the homogenous distribution of light and the agreeable, daylight-esque colour of the light.”

The LEDs have proven to have much great efficiency than the standard car bulbs.  The average energy consumption of the lights in a car using normal bulbs is around 200w while a car fitted with the new LED’s will only demand around 15watt of power. What this means simply is that their is less demand on the batteries and fuel consumption can be noticeably reduced. This is turn reduces CO2 emissions and goes some way to helping the planet.  Your wallet will feel the benefit as well, not only because you are spending less on filling up the car but also because the LED’s have a practically indefinite service life.

Lastly, these revolutionary lights will improve driver safety. They can react up to around 12 times quicker than traditional bulbs and their superior light quality output means spotting dangers has never been easier. Your less likely to find yourself in the pitch black as their durability means failing bulbs are a rarity. These lights are now being utilized for both low and high beams and also for indicator lights meaning that their benefits can be multiplied and have a greater all round affect.

The Positives of Both New and Old Cars

without comments

Vehicles are part of everyone's life; folk cannot get anywhere without driving a car, but as cars develop further they start to get a lot more costly then they usually would be as the technology gets piled in. But some people argue that new cars are just not as strong as old ones used to be. So let us take a brief look at the benefits of owning both a new car and an older model

New Car Benefits
1) The vehicle has a lot more technology built on board and you will get a lot more comfortable drive out of it, things such as cruise control, air conditioning and ICE are just regular in cars these days.
2) When purchasing a new vehicle you can be confident that you will get around hassle free for a few years.
3) New cars tend to have a lot more space then older models and are built a lot deeper.

Upsides of Older Cars
1) There engines are a lot more tougher than they are these days.
2) They cost a lot less to repair when they do break down, unless of course you choose to buy a BMW or buy a Mercedes.
3) They cost a lot lower to buy. If you are on a minimal budget then choosing a new car would just not be the choice for you.

Whichever path you ultimatley decide to choose, you should be sure to read the review and motoring news sections carefully.

New Cars are Not Built to Last

without comments

In this current day and age having your own transport is essential as public transport will only let you down. People these days want to have extravagant cars to drive around in and they end up causing a fortune.

But is it worth the hassle of buying a new car these days? Let us see the reason why I do not really like this.
1.) The new car models have been manufactured not to last very long so you have to go out and buy a new one.
2.) Even if the cars were built to last people are spread out all over the country, so basically people cover a lot more miles than they used to in the old days.
3.) Parts for your vehicle that will set you back alot.

I think back to when I first got my drivers licence, it was an amazing time, but I was driving a car that had been built in 1985 and done a huge amount of miles but never let me down. Nowadays I definatley like to purchase newer cars, but the annoying thing about them is that they are always breaking.

Most people decide to purchase their vehicles on finance so by the time they pay them off the car would be dead anyway and then they would have to go and buy a new one, the manufacturers are very clever.  So in my opinion car leasing is probably one of the best options you pay probably less than you would as a monthly rate for finance, then when your term is up you hand the car back and get a brand new one, plus avoiding all of the cost of repairs and break downs.

Great Mercedes car leasing or BMW car leasing.

Auction Car Sales Healthier Than Ever

without comments

Further drops in the production and sales of new cars are being reported all over the news, but the same is not so true for second hand cars. Some of the biggest names in the industry report healthy figures.

No one can argue that there is trouble in the new car market. Production has slowed down for many of the top car names, causing widespread lay offs and cuts in pay for workers. Bentley have also announced redundancies last month, highlighting that the crunch is hitting the luxury market also. Official figures show a 30.9% fall in new car registrations according to the Society of Motor Manufactures in January as compared to the previous year. This drop is said to be the largest of its kind for over 30 years and the direction shows no signs of changing soon. Industry experts are suggesting that the new car market won’t see an upturn for at least three years.

Whilst new purchases are suffering, the same cannot be said for those in the used car market. BCA and Manheim have announced that they have seen record numbers of vehicles come through their books over the previous weeks. BCA stated that more vans and cars were sold in Jan 2009 than any previous year and prices of vehicles have been on the rise for the last three months. They estimate an average of rise of £300 on last year.

Van leasing and car leasing is also on the up it seems as the major leasers are reporting improving numbers this year. This is a likely result of people choosing to lease their vehicles during this economic downturn rather than commit to purchasing them outright. Out of all the countries in the UK car leasing in Cardiff has seen the biggest boost.

The other big player, Manheim, reported that average wholesale van prices went up by £140, the first increase since September of last year. There comes yet again another rise in sales of 4 wheel-drive vehicles this period, which makes it 6th month in a row now.

The new BMW 7 Series.

without comments

The latest release by BMW in its very popular seven series seems to be the best to date – it’s truly way ahead of the pack in its class and is a luxury car with a capital “L” – in every sense of the word.

Power

Under the hood is bigger and better than any previous effort in the seven series – the 750iL boasts a mighty 400 horsepower (which is more than 40 more horses than before) and can rocket from zero to sixty in less than five seconds.  Although the miles per gallon of the new  4.4 liter V8 engine are a bit modest in terms of conservation (15 city and 23 highway), they are still competitive among the big boys in the luxury class.

Comfort

The new 750iL is big in terms of power, but the older versions often came under a lot of criticism when it came to the interior.  Larger bodied individuals often passed up previous cars in the seven series even though the power and handling were second to none, simply because they didn’t feel there was enough room for them in the cockpit.  The previous version of the seven series also came under some criticism for not having the seat adjustments in positions that were convenient enough for a larger person to adjust without a struggle.

BMW has reacted to criticisms of the previous model's interior by improving on the cab's head and leg room space. The arrangement of the control panel has also been made to please the driver.

BMW got the interior spot on with ergonomic design for comfort and ease of use.

Behind the Wheel

Incredible, almost space age options take the driving experience and the luxury car’s handling to unimaginable new levels. The driver has now more buttons to press for more features such as side view cameras, night vision, rear wheel drive and pedestrian detection.

Driving dynamics are taken to another level with improved control with individually operating electronic dampers as well as anti-roll technology. In the wet, the big 7 still manages to do a steady job.

BMW has always been a force to be reckoned with in the world of luxury cars, but even they seem to have outdone themselves with the new 750iL.For eighty thousand dollars you get more than the price value as it is a real pleasure to be in this car whether it is moving or standing still.

Make Cars That are Cheap

without comments

We all know that the car industry is in the midst of one of its worst financial times in its history. Although used cars are still widely being accepting, dealers are having trouble ridding of the new cars. The car industry believes that the way out of the credit crunch us by getting a huge bailout. But is this the truth or not? Or is there a lot more info lying behind the lights.

Well something needs to be done about the failing market and I can tell you that it is not a bail out that will save it. Quickly viewing in your mind, Does it really cost manufacturers huge sums of dollars to create a vehicle. I have heard that cars can be created in just over a day and for only a couple of thousand pounds, which they then sell off for a profit of usually 80%.

Is this not the apparent reason as to why the niche is suffering, because they are over pricing? I understand that the marketing of a new vehicle will be considerably more. But when it comes to bulk manufacturing, these vehicles are just getting created and sold. The car manufacturers decided to get a bit greedy and started charging through the mouth. This is why we are in the current situation we are in.

This is why the cheaper vehicles are still very successful. They offer top of the range quality and cheap rates and manufacturers are still making a healthy profit. I have driven a Fiat that feels exactly like the higher branded cars.

The new BMW Z4 2009

with one comment

This is the model many hope will bring BWM back to its glory days as the leader in admirable car design and sex appeal. Not that the previous generation of designs under the direct leadership of the popular Chris Bangle was bad. Perhaps the designs were too futuristic, too sophisticated and too sexy in a way that confused an average BWM fan. The cars still delivered on the promise of “Sheer Driving Pleasure” the only issue being the driver wished dearly for better looks.

Well, the biggest talking point about the new Z4 will whether there has been an improvement to its predecessor. Is the car good looking? Difficult to tell at a first glance. The design is still faithful to the original Z4 by continuing with the shark nose theme together with very masculine styling. One cannot say immediately that the car is good looking.

Which is a good thing because there is just a lot depth to the design of the Z4 which needs careful observation for it to be fully appreciated. The Z4 is on track to being a timeless beauty. It is beauty which will not wear out very quickly.BMW has not been completely shy in trying out fresh design ideas. Only this time they seem to have thought carefully about what people will say. Lately the Z4 is making every effort to be likable.

The new design is more like the story of sweet and sour of any favourite food. Sweet and sour desert. BMW have managed well to combine elegance and aggressiveness by blending the conservative front with the sporty lines that flow all the way to the rear. The front looks more like a Mercedes CL coupe while the rest of the body paying tribute to the original Z4. One gets the feeling the car could have been much better if the back was as great as the front. BMW has also played it safe with the interior.

The new car will be propelled by straight 6 engines  and BMW is now coming up with an unusually naming convention for their engines. There will be the sDrive23i (2.5 litre/150kw) followed by the sDrive30i (3litlre/190kw). The will also be a turbocharged version sDrive35i which produces (3 litre/225kw). The new comer is quite quick off the mark too with times to 100 km (60 mph) ranging between 6 and 5 depending on engine size off course.

Other minor points that work in favour of the Z4 are that it is bigger (5.8 inches longer) and partly because of the new aluminium hard top which closes down in a whooping 20 seconds. Z4 would not be a real modern BMW without the iDrive which is ever being improved.

Is this a winner? Difficult one as a lot of BMW fans lost faith during the previous wave of designs. Jugded solely on engineering this car should be near perfect if not extrodinary. Sadly many buyers will still keep a grudge from the previous design. It will be scrutinised for the next while but in that time it might win new hearts for Bavarian Works.
