Are There No Super Models Anymore? 4 Reasons for the Cultural Shift.

without comments

Lots of people are talking about how super models aren’t so big anymore, that they don’t really exist like they once did, and that a lot of figures from the world of fitness are coming in to take over. Is this really happening?

We put together 4 reasons — 2 for, 2 against — explaining why fashion models might not be around forever.

In Favor — Celebrities are More Famous

It’s not that fashion models are disappearing, but because of their lesser influence, they have to go along with the trends coming out of Milan, Paris, London, and New York. And celebrities don’t have to do that, so they are free to get as ‘fit’ as they want and still appear on the cover of Vogue.

For #2: There Are No Super Models Anymore.

It’s really tough to become a massive celebrity when you’re simply doing modelling. Sure, massive celebrities seem to spring up out of nowhere, but there’s usually something crazy attached to an insta-celeb these days, whereas a beautiful fashion model in the midst of the industry has a tougher time differentiating herself.

Contra 1: Guys Aren’t Crazy About Strong Women

For a really large majority of men, any visible muscle — even if it’s leaned muscle and not ‘bulky’ muscle, is too much. When they watch models videos online, they aren’t searching for babes with a lot of strength — it’s strictly the 20th-century definition of female beauty right here.

Against #2: Fitness is Still A Niche.

It’s not that the fitness industry itself is just a little niche, but the idea that it can produce supermodel quality babes is a relatively new one. There are some publications that are making the leap from ‘fitness’ to ‘fitness and fashion’, and those are where you’ll need to look for the future stars, but it’s still a ways off.

When the first Altima rolled off Smyna plant

without comments

It is thought that the Eastern car manufacturer Nissan produced the Nissan Altima to keep on one of the most successful lines in the organization’s history, the Nissan Bluebird, which started in 1957.  After the Bluebird was phased off, speculations were high on which line would replace the Bluebird, which many have believed to be the Altima.  The Altima is positioned higher than another popular line, the Nissan Sentra, but lower than the Nissan Maxima re size, power, and luxury.  The Altima’s first markets are north America and the Middle East.  Other markets other than the two discussed earlier also have the Altima, but know it as the Nissan Teana.  Altimas were first assembled and produced for the 1993 model year in 1992.  As of the moment, two Nissan plants in the US turn out the Altima – the plants in Smyrna, Tennessee and Canton, Mississippi.  The Smyrna plant was first to turn out the car, and the Canton plant only followed in 2004 to fill in high demand.

the problem with the Altima is that there have many a large amount of manufacturing failings in both plants that have made Nissan do a number of safety recalls after only two years when the first Altima slipped off the Smyna plant.  Issues on defects still plague the Altima for as contemporary as 2008.  The engine utilized in all Altima models is the KA24DE I4 DOHC engine with 150 hp.  Transmission is either 4-speed automatic or 5 speed manual.  The trim lines for the Altima are the XE ( base ), GXE ( mid-line ), SE ( sporty ), and the GLE ( luxury ).  The most distinguishing features of the different trims are manual windows for the XE, power windows for the GXE, mist lights and side skirts for the GXE.  In spite of safety concerns, the Altima line is still being produced on its fourth generation.

5 Ways to Stop Going to that Useless Gym.

without comments

Gyms are massively overrated. Maybe you are going to one now, or you had a great experience with one before, but let me tell you that there are plenty of reasons to give up the gym and find another way to work out.

And hey, if you’re in love with the gym as-is, then you’ve got nothing to worry about. But if you’re thinking of a change, peruse these 5 reasons and make a new choice.

#5: Gym Prices Tend to Be Rather Obscene.

Gyms are unbelievably expensive for what they offer. Is there anywhere else in the world where you go maybe 2, 3 times a week, do all the work yourself, and pay extremely steep fees for the privilege? Hey, if you’ve got a great gym and can afford it, more power to you. But there are just too many out there that are complete rip-offs.

#4: People in Gyms Can Go Insane.

You start to see the same people over and over at the gym, and they get into specific routines. These routines can become more and more absurd, because these people know they’re being watched in close quarters. That is why you have to deal with the spectacle of Mr. thickest-neck-ever coming in and grunting his way through 30 unnecessarily heavy repetitions in front of you. Nowhere else in the world do you have to put up with stuff like that.

#3: Do You Enjoy Covering Yourself in Other People’s Sweat?

While it should be standard practice to wipe down every single machine you use with a towel (and possibly a nice spray) before letting anyone else onto it, the fact of the matter is that not all the people at the gym are so warm and sunny. More times than I care to count I’ve seen people get off a machine and just leave it there, dripping, waiting for someone else to show up and clean the disgusting sweat off.

#2: Repetition Breeds Contempt.

No matter how may audio books you go through, magazines you bring, albums you listen to, or variations in exercise you try and do, you’ll eventually be repeating yourself in a gym, where – face it – you’re confined into a little room for hours, doing the same repetitive movements over and over until you can feel a difference. Life is too short.

#1: Welcome to a World Without Limits.

If you’re finally ready to cut the cord and free yourself from the oppressive confines of your neighborhood sweat-box, you’ll discover a shining, dynamic, vital world outside its doors, once that allows you to go for a run in literally any direction you want, without a hassling machine setting your limits for you. You might also notice that this ‘go anywhere’ running doesn’t cost over $100 a month. You’re welcome!
