Rainy Day Driving Are Not A Problem
Scared of driving in the rain? Santa Fe Ford wants to help drivers and so the Ford dealership Florida has compiled this list of summer driving advice for rainy situations to distribute in their Ford dealer Florida lot.
As with most automobile problems, it is best to be prepared before a problem occurs. The best way to divert an accident on a rainy road is to make certain the car is safe for the trip.
First, keep the tire pressure at the factory recommended levels and make sure each tire has uniform pressure. Even one pound of pressure variation can have a serious effect on handling and stopping in bad conditions. Replace any tire that is wearing thin or losing tread on the edges.
If handling is still a concern, have the brakes, rear end, and suspension examined by a professional. These systems work together to create a smooth and secure ride. If there are any handling problems on dry roads, know that they will be worsened on a rainy day.
A high-quality set of windshield wiper blades is an easy way to guarantee safe driving in bad weather. High-end blades are excellent if money is no object, but new OEM blades are a serious improvement over worn out blades. A chemical treatment like Rain-X is a great additional option to keep eyes on the road no matter what the weather.
Finally double-check that all of the signal lights, lights and brake lights are working. Bulbs are cheap, so replace them in pairs for piece of mind driving. Scuffed lenses can be buffed out with a variety of products available from any auto parts store, and rubbing compound works well in a pinch to clear-up old lenses.
With the car equipped for the road, consider polishing driving habits once the rain starts pouring. First off, slow down. That seems easy, but with the hustle and bustle of everyday life many drivers continue to speed even when braking distance, stopping distance, and driver communication are all compromised by rain.
Second, try not to brake and steer at the same time. This keeps the vehicle’s weight centered over the tires and improves handling.
Lastly, have the courage to pull over and wait out the storm if conditions worsen. There is no shame in being a few minutes late because of self-preservation.

The Intercoolers Job And What It Does
The word intercooler has been banded about in car terms however it is beneficial to establish exactly what actually is its function? Well we all know that if someone turbo charge or supercharge a vehicle we force air into the fuel system using a compressor of some sort. The turbocharger works by using the old exhaust gasses to drive the turbine round, while the supercharger requires a belt to get things working. With either method some heat is produced.
The compressed air gets hot because it gets squeezed by the two compressor blades. The problem actually happens when the hot air has to reach the engine. The hot air will actually be less dense. Therefore the less the combustion chamber in the engine can make use of it. This problem can be so great that if the temperature got too hot, the mixture could pre ignite and cause the engine to be destroyed extremely quickly by the pre ignition allowing another Milton keynes job for an engine re-builder.
The reason the air gets so heats up so much is because it is being highly compressed unlike ordinary air which gets to the engine via an air filter directly from the fresh air is fed in from the outside world and fed to the engine via an air filter this type of normal air will be quite cold. The use of compressed air is very good because it means we can get more air into a given space than if we tried to put it in normally. This is why a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine can do just as good a job performance wise as a normal aspiration engine twice its size can accomplice. Now as we said compressed air gets hot so a loss of power will be lost through the heat. This is the reason why the intercooler has to come into play.
The intercooler is a large type of air to air exchange radiator. The intercooler is normally between the supercharger or turbo and the inlet hose through to the engine inlet manifold.
The construction of the intercoolers are typically made up of aluminum as this cools the air a lot faster. There is generally an intake side, where the air passes into the intercooler, the air then passes along some straight tubes and between these tubes are fins very similar to a normal car radiator which then allows cool air to pass through these as the vehicle is traveling along. This will in effect cool the compressed air as it is running through the pipes and when the compressed air comes out the other side it should be cool enough to enter the engine. Now the bigger the intercooler the better job it should do.
So fitting a larger aftermarket intercooler, normally offers much better results. For earlier cars that were fitted with turbos that did not have an intercooler fitted as standard, just adding one can also make some worthwhile improvements. There are also various suppliers who make specialist one offs for custom fittings.

F1 Monaco Grand Prix 2010
This year’s Monaco grand prix was certainly one of the most exciting races for last few years. There were crashes, mechanical failures, tempered flared and skills involved in this race. I was all pumped because of this race and I wanted to got for a nice drive in my Audi TT roadster or my dad’s Audi Q5 which we got few months ago from used cars garage not so long ago. It was a terrible idea of me because in that hype I forgot how many speed cameras there are and also Audi is not as fast as F1 machines. So I should just stick to watch the race on TV other than drive an Audi in a 30mph road.
It was a beautiful afternoon in Monaco for a competitive race. The distance of the race is 260.520km and the length of the circuit is 3.340km. The race started with the Australian Mark Webber in pole position of red bull team and just behind him the Polish Robert Kubica of Renault team. Behind Webber and Kubica was the talented German Sebastian Vettel in 3rd grid for a start. Many people are backing the German to win F1 championship this year after last year.
The race was interrupted few times, which brought safety car in to the track few times because of some horrific crashes. Sebastian Vettel got a terrific start who tipped Kubica but couldn’t tip Webber and the race started with Mark Webber leading, Vettel second and Kubica third. Every time Webber pulled away a bit from the rest of the pack the safety car was called in and everyone caught up with Webber. Safety car played its part to make the race interesting as Webber couldn’t pull away. At the end of the race after 78 laps it was indeed the Australian who too the chequered just in front of Vettel and then Kubica who finished third.
The race highlight has to be Webber’s win but let’s not forget Alonso’s fantastic race from 23rd position to finish 6th it was a great race from the Spaniard.

Insuring Your Vehicle
In all cases it is the person who hires a contract hire vehicle who has to make sure it is properly insured, not the car leasing company. This means not only taking out fully comprehensive insurance to cover all those who are to drive the vehicle but also answering all the questions accurately and declaring any material facts.
Most forms of personal and business insurance (including home insurance) will state that you need to declare any material facts. Meaning if you have information that can influence their decision on policy and price, then it’s up to you to declare it.
A lot of drivers change their occupation, or move house, and neglect to tell their insurers; this is often just an oversight, but depending on the change in your circumstances it can make a drastic difference to your policy. Vehicle modifications can also change your policy, or even worse give the insurance company a reason to deny a claim; this can be something as simple as fitting a different body kit, tyres, wheels, etc..
If a vehicle is written off, the insurer’s standard practise would be to pay out the current value of the written off vehicle, allowing you to purchase a new one. It’s a different story if you were driving a hire car though, you will basically have ended your lease agreeement early and will therefore be liable to pay an early settlement penalty. This liability can be avoided by taking out GAP insurance.
The best way of covering this shortfall is will RTI insurance, or Return To Invoice insurance, which is a type of GAP insurance designed for this kind of situation. In the circumstances where your car is written off, the insurance will pay out the market value for the vehicle, this will provide the contract hire company with the value of the vehicle but not the penalties that it are due. RTI insurance will provide the hirer with the funds needed to settle penalties by paying out the difference between the current market value and the original invoice price of the vehicle.
Often the insurance company underwriters will attempt to deny a claim that should have been approved. If you think this has happened to you, you can have your claim referred to the Insurance Ombudsman, who will look at the claim and decide if in fact it should have been paid.
It is usually a major financial blow for the motorist when an insurance company refuses to pay out after a car has been written off. The problem is even worse for lease cars; you will end up liable not only for the market value of the car but also for ending your lease agreement early. This could be majorly expensive for a motorist, particularly if you’ve taken out a van contract hire, or other expensive or commercial vehicles. It’s probably advisable then to make sure you accurately input all your information when taking out vehicle insurance - you don’t want to give the insurance company any reason to decline your claim?

Rewards Of An Auto Club Membership Are Many
Canadians know winter like no other country in the Western world. Though the more northern states of the U. S. Can definitely compete in terms of snow and temperature, the dangers of Canadian highways and backroads during winter can be very extreme. Driving them is almost always hazardous. Having an auto club membership can lessen some of the hazard and at least provide a sense of security to Canadian drivers.
Some auto clubs are offshoots from famous or name brand companies, such as gasoline companies or popular auto repair and mechanic franchises. Others are original and almost historic in origin, and are all about offering benefits and services to members. To find the perfect auto club, go down a list of the benefits and costs and compare them. Some things seem standard when it comes to a membership, while others might have a few hidden costs or extra but very important services.
Battery boosting is also something to look closely at. Many a Canadian driver has had to experience a car that just refuses to start, or shuts down completely on a cold and deserted highway. It’s still common practice in some parts of the country to think that a car doesn’t need to be plugged in at night.
Typically an auto club membership should include standard towing as well as winching or extrication services. Towing should be available twenty four hours of a day, seven days of a week. Extrication of course may not have the same coverage. Usually winching and extricating are for more rare cases anyway, when a car is mired in mud or stuck in wet sand on a beach.
Some cars will start at home but once out on the road, the battery just gets too cold. Many car clubs have roadside service as one of their benefits. This means that they will send a tow truck out to test a battery. If it can be boosted, they’ll do so and the club member can continue on their way. If the battery won’t start, usually the club membership will offer a new battery for a good price, anything to get the driver going again.
A membership in a club is about planning. Many families have young or new drivers who are still learning the rules of the road and how far they can push their vehicle in winter weather. There is an added sense of security knowing that if something should happen, someone with professional car repair skills and with a respectable reputation is only a phone call away, and that loved ones can expect to be on the road again soon.
People don’t plan to have a flat tire any more than they plan to run out of gas. As part of an auto club, membership might include a flat tire service. This means that tow trucks will attend a car with a flat tire, helping to get it going again. They might also deliver gas to a car that’s run out, all as part of their excellent service. During the coldest parts of the Canadian winter, people can and do die from spending too much time outside, even if they’ve got a car nearby. Being able to call someone for help is ever so important.
Even in Canada, many people hop into their cars without jackets or proper winter clothing. There is a belief by many that they’ll be in and out of their vehicles so quickly that they won’t need to prepare for the worst case scenario. Having an auto club membership is a part of that ever important preparation, just like having blankets, food and flares in the trunk at all times. Winter is a harsh season.
This reputable auto club is dedicated to make your travelling experience as enjoyable as possible. Plan your perfect travel getaway with little hassle through these fun Las Vegas vacation packages.

Reasons On Having Expensive Car Insurance Fees
There are a number of variables that contribute to your total cost for car insurance. Your driving history and record are among the most influential factors. People don’t fully appreciate the huge impact that speeding tickets can have on your car insurance rates. Studies reveal that speeding is the primary factor in almost 35% of auto accidents. So, the slower we drive the lower our risk is of being in an accident and the less money insurance companies want in order to cover you as a driver. Research also shows that the majority of speeders slow down temporarily after receiving a speeding ticket. One study tracked speeders for a month after receiving speeding tickets. The subjects reduced their chances of a fatal accident to less than 35%, but the speeders did not continue these safer driving habits for longer than a few months.
The above-mentioned studies, and others like them, show that those who speed regularly have over a 50% greater chance of being fatally injured in a car accident than those who obey traffic laws. This is why insurance companies consider speeders to be such a liability and charge more for assuming the risk of insuring those who get speeding tickets. Below are a few points for those who have a history of speeding tickets to consider when shopping for car insurance:
1) One speeding ticket, under 15 mph above the legal posted speed, will not generally effect your insurance rates. If you are cited for going faster than 15mph over the speed limit, you will be cited for reckless driving in addition to speeding.
b)Some people have a very nice record of driving. They have a very clean history of driving. Such people have a great advantage while going to insurance companies. There are various insurance rates for different cases. One must choose them smartly. They must choose the insurance best suited for them. one must do a through research for this decision and arrive at a suitable conclusion. One can easily obtain an increase their rate of insurance by as much as twenty seven percent. This is very helpful for the individual.
3) One point is added to your record for every speeding ticket (more for those citations also considered reckless driving). When you have an accumulation of these points over a three-year period, your auto insurance rates can increase by about one thousand dollars.
d)Some people have multiple speeding tickets. This can help a lot to that person. People tend to switch from one insurance company to another. This habit is not useful under some cases. One should not change the insurance carrier frequently. This can be disadvantageous in certain cases. One must have a long history of association with the company. This brings with it many advantages. People must take these advantages and make the right choice in selecting the insurance carrier. This would be especially useful for the person.
But it is also good if you find a chance to fight for your speeding tickets. Though there is only a small chance that you could be saved from being issued a speeding ticket, but you can try on the technicality issues. So, there’s no need for you to hire an attorney to help you. All you need to have is a little knowledge and never accept your fault.

Discover The Famous Miniature Cars Of Yester Year
When you think about the words of “famous miniature cars”, it usually comes to mind matchbox cars. The tiny vehicles are know the world over, and later Mattel would make the line of tiny cars and truck famous. Finding out what the history of the play toy is, is a must for collectors. Being informed, will certainly help to decide if it is an original, their true value, and if it is a good deal or not, to buy one.
It might surprise you to find out that the original matchbox design came from an English product company, and by a co-owner, named Jack Odell. He redesigned the first car for his daughter, from a toy that was sold at the company, except it was a much smaller version. The need for the small car was that apparently, she could not take any toys to school that would not fit inside a matchbox, so this is how the idea of die-cast small cars was dreamed up.
Lesney company, as it was known, marketed and distributed through the Moko Lesney company, and after the Lesney legacy went out of business, all of the rights to the name and design went to Moko. If you want to collect the line of vehicles, then be aware that the original distributing company name will be on the toys.
One of the most brilliant plans for the Lesney line was when they developed a retirement plan for their line for the die-cast model of cars. Vehicles would taken off the market after a season of production for the buying public. That is why collectors look for them so vigorously, and will pay high prices for originals. Also, production would be limited, which today draws the value of them to high prices on the open market.
If you are looking for the cars, then known that all originals will come in their unique bright yellow little box, in the shape of a box of matches. If a car is trying to be sold without the box, then look for other defining marks on the car, such as the Moko imprint on the vehicles. Popularity and rarity of certain models, like the die-cast caravan, is just one example of what to look for in the little vehicles.
The condition of cars, trucks, and jeeps, and the packaging it came in is very important, when trying to decide if the selling price is worth the cost. As with other vintage or antiques, all of these factors play into the real worth of it. Only you can decide if it is worth that much to own.
Many new collectors of die-casts do not realize that catalogs of the toys in the Lesney/Moko line, are just as valuable. Any price guides that can be found are a collectible too. As with the vehicles condition on both publications does mean a lot, in value and collectability. Do not be surprised to find more vehicles that are in better shape than the books and magazines. Rough handling by kids does not bode well for paper products.
Knowing all of these facts of history about collecting these rare toy cars and trucks, might just keep you out of being taken advantage of by a sly seller. Read more about the fascinating history of collectible cars and trucks from decades past, and fall in love with them all over again, or for the very first time.
